Sprats Suzanne
Registered with both AQHA and FQHR
Annie was purchased in April 2000.
She is a 1997 dun mare by Zans Rawhide who is by Zan Parr Bar with Harlan's Tyree
also on her papers on the top side.
Zans Rawhide was featured in the March/April, 2003 issue of Americas horse.
On the bottom, War Leo is on the papers and Docs Jack Sprat is just a
generation off of her Papers.
Annie
She is a little over 15 hands tall and has a lot of athletic ability and is a very cowy and quick moving horse.  She is great at dragging anything from big limbs that have fallen from trees to dragging calves to fire and is doing great at either end in teamroping, but I have been mainly heading off of her.

My niece is learning more all of the time.  She competed in the Open Phillips County Horseshow on May 26, 2007 held for any and all kids 8-18 years old.  She was the Champion of the 12-14 age group using three horses.  Annie was only used in Showmanship at this show and Sarah received 2nd.  Krysler was ridden in Bareback Horsemanship and the race events and Buck in Horsemanship, Trail, and Reining.

2006 Shows
On July 22, Annie was shown at the KFQHRA horseshow in Plainville
She finished 1st in Working Cow Horse, Ranch Pleasure,
Barrels, and 7 & Older Mares,
2nd in Ranch Reining and Pole Bending,
3rd in Ranch Cutting, and 5th in Handy Ranch Horse.
All of these placings earned her the
High Point Buckle
that was awarded to the KFQHRA Open Division.
She also finished 3rd for my nephew, Will, in Ranch Pleasure
and 1st in Youth Mares, 2nd in Handy Ranch Horse and Barrels,
and 4th in Poles for my niece, Sarah.

The following pictures were taken at the Plainville KFQHRA show July 22, 2006

Then, on July 29, 2006 Sarah showed her at the
Gosper/Phelps County 4-H horseshow held in Elwood, NE.
She received a purple in Halter--3 and older mares and ended up being the
Grand Champion Mare!!!

She also earned a purple in Trail class,
a blue in Showmanship and Horsemanship,
and white ribbons in Barrels and Poles.
Sarah also used Rawhide Leo Flash "Buck" in a few events.
See the results for Buck here.

She was bred to Ciclone Socks for a 2005 foal, but decided to leave her open for 2006
since we all like to ride her plus she is the solid ranch horse we need to have.
She had such a nice colt, that I'll have to look at trying to breed her back
in a couple years after a few more of the younger horses are more seasoned.

Born March 17, 2005
My niece gave this one his nickname.
He was hauled to the AI site, pastures, and horseshows and spent a lot of time alone in a pen and trailer
plus he was also tied to the trailer at different times during his first few months of life.
He loads easily and when being hauled, he knew that mom had to work, so just relaxed until she got back.

HERE ANNIE IS AFTER HELPING OUR NIECE,
SARAH, WIN SHOWMANSHIP AND WALK/TROT
AT THE LEAVENWORTH COUNTY 4-H FAIR IN 2004
Sarah was involved in the horseless horse project
and could borrow a horse to show at her fair.
This was Sarah's FIRST year of showing!!!

Commerce Bank in Leavenworth county sponsored a Montana
Silversmith belt buckle for each of the showmanship winners...Sarah was very proud of her first buckle win!!

Sarah was awarded a blue ribbon and a certificate for her win in Walk Trot!!

Annie also did well in 2004 for Sarah at the
Phillips County Open Class show
as they won Walk/Trot and Junior Western Pleasure, they received the
second blue in Horsemanship and received a blue ribbon in halter

We missed out on being able to show any in 2005, but

In her first Foundation show,
which was held in Salina on October 24-26, 2003,
she was 4th in Amateur Working Ranch Horse...
the rider needs to learn to rope better...
if I had roped the calf at the end, we would've won the class,
1st in Amateur Barrels and Poles, and
3rd in a class of 13 in the 1997-1999 Mares Conformation class.
She earned a total of 5 points in the speed events
and 2 points in conformation.
We also competed in Handy Ranch Horse and Ranch Pleasure.
In Ranch Pleasure, we were called back for the finals,
but didn't place in the top six.

The following two pictures were taken September, 2003

She is a good one to be on in the cattle pen, pastures, and roping pen
plus she is nice to ride on trail rides,
but she also has a special place
in the hearts of our niece and nephews (especially our niece).
The pictures below are definitely older pix, but it shows how
good she is with the younger generation.

Annie at the 2003 KS State NBHA Championships
The picture to the left was taken at the Kansas State Championships
held in Topeka the first weekend in May, 2003.
She won the 4D in the district match race and qualified for the short-go in the 4D, but also ended up in the 3D a couple of times.  She was quick and was improving all of the time.
At the Futurity/Derby and Open runs held in Scott City
on October 11-12, 2003, there were Tanner Times that we could get.
In her fastest run of the weekend, she placed first in the Open 3D and the Tanner Time said that she was faster than the top three runners' average on the second barrel and on the three turns combined.  She had a tough time going back indoors at first
so we didn't make it back to the finals in the Derby.
Annie has not been run my me but a handful of times in barrels since November 2003
as my interests have changed.

My niece is enjoying doing some race events on Annie, but I'm hoping to get Sarah steered more towards the roping.
I will continue to use her in the cattle classes and keep her improving in teamroping.
